One féature of Brian’s new
car that brought us a lot of
_ pleasure on our trip to the

interior is a cassette player.
_ Even playing our old tapes
.was pleasant but we got the
most fun out of a boxful
loaned to us by a friend.

If you’re going on a car
trip and have a tape deck in
the car, comsider trading
tapes with someone. In the
box we had were a number
of mystery tapes, labeled
“Multi” or “HISORHTS* —
really informative. They had
everything.,.from gypsy
violins ‘to fuill voice .choirs
belting out the Battle Hymna
of the Republic. Each side
was 90 minutes of surprises.

air conditioning, we got
terribly thirsty. I hereby vow
that Tl never take another
motor holiday without my’
big two-litre vacuum jug full
of iced tea or lemonade. If I
never see another luke-warm
coke it will be too soon!

If you’re heading for the
interior with a carload of
kids, don't miss taking them
to one of the big water slides
that are springing up in many
interior cities. Kelowna has
two — both excellent. They
cost in the $6 range per
person which seems a lot but
when you compare it to rides
at an amusement park you
get the proper perspective.
If they like, kids can spend
the whole day skidding down
these waterfalls. There are
picnic areas and hot dog
stands. I can't think of
anything more fun when the
temperature hovers around
40.

The slides are closely
supervised but I wouldn't let
any child go unaccompanied
unless he could swim well.

is practically squishy.

stands and they keep those
green baseballs they try to
peddle.
