Here’s a challenge!

town a 1990 Honda
Civic SI hatchback with
manual transmission. “Funny
noise” is just the description
I would label rhe sound com-
ing from che right front
wheel well area of my car.

This sound is a clicking
noise (like something is
loose) and very pronounced
(it can be heard inside or

* outside the car). You ONLY

hear the clicking when the
ear lurches forward, like
when you are changing from
first to second gear, or if you
are in fiest or second wear and
release the gas pedal

Hin a parking lor, £ can
re-create the sound by going
forward a few metres in first
gear, stopping and putting
the car in reverse. Ie has
nothing to do with braking,
and does not sound when
I'm turning, only the for-
ward/back motion of the car.

] even took my car to
Honda, figuring it is some-
thing quite major, However.
even they were puzzled.

1 took it to another
Honda place and they started
talking about something in
the dash. I think the guy «was
overcome with dollar signs to
see straight, and I did not
feel comfortable enough to
leave my car with them. I

would be most gracious if
