VanDusen lights up gardens EXPERIENCE THE magic of VanDusen Gardens at night during the Festival of Lights, from Friday, Dec. 4 until Sunday, Jan. 3, from § to 9:30 p.m., except Christmas Day. Eighteen thousand lights twinkle over five acres of seasonal displays. This year the central courtyard is ‘‘Color it Blue’? en- circled by the golden laburnum walk. Other features include a miniature train under the Polish Christmas tree, life-sized nativity, a dragon in the stone garden, a shimmering lakeside walk, and Teddy and his Papa Bear chair for children to cuddle. The gardens are open until midnight on New Years Eve. Hot refreshments are available every night on Sprinkler’s patios Admission rates are $7 for fam- ilies, $3.50 for adults and $1.75 for seniors and youth.
