But a week later they got a reprieve,
thanks largely to energetic intervention
by West Van Chamber of Commerce
“president John Clark, who politely point-
ed our the idiocy of the situation ina
community of some 38,000 with just one
tiny hotel (Park Royal) at its eastern tip
and one small motel 14 km away at its
western extremity. By contrast, in both
North Van City and District — which
between them boast up toa dozen
decent-sized hotels and motels — legal
B&Ns abound:
