One of those six deserving people was West Van's irrepressi- ble Murray Goldman, the honor- ary chairman of Big Brothers and clothier extraordinaire! Murray was selected for his work over the past 30 years on the board of directors of Big Brothers, for being a Big Brother to six Little Brothers, and especially for his ef- forts and his boundless enthusiasm in recruiting Big Brothers for the past three decades. He’s the fellow who wrote such bestsellers as Airport, Hotel, Wheels and so many more — almost all of which have been made into big budget feature movies. The Evening News is his first book in six years, and it was teleased on April Sth, his 70th bir- thday. It’s a suspense drama about a large television network with the scenario set in the U.S., Peru, Bri- tain, Canada, italy and Paname. A meticulous researcher, Hailey even went into the High Andes, where the Maoist guerillas actually operate.
