Heritage homeowners meet

NORTH VANCOUVER City has
organized through its heritage
program a special Nov. 14 pres-
entation aimed at helping the
owners of heritage homes main-
tain, restore and renovate heritage
buildings.

The meeting, entitled Caring for
Your Heritage Home, is scheduled
to take place at Anne Macdonald
Hall, 333 Chesterfield Ave., North
Vancouver, starting at 7 p.m.

Featured speakers will be Don
Luxton and Vaida Vindners of
Foundation Group Designs.

The two are the authors of the
city’s heritage inventory, and

together have a wealth of knowl-
edge about the North Shore’s
heritage and restoration projects
throughout the province.

Gary Penway, a planning
technician with the city’s develop-
ment services department, said the
presentation is aimed at increasing
public awareness of heritage pro-
perties.

Sponsored by the city’s heritage
advisory committee, the pres-
entation is free.

A limited number of tickets are
available and can be reserved by
calling 985-7761, local 235, or by
visiting the clerk’s department at
North Vancouver City Hall.
