Robber gets three months A 21-YEAR-OLD min of no fixed address was sentenced to three months in jail Monday after pleading guilty to robbery charges. Security guard guilty of assault A FORMER security guard at West Vancouver’s Woodward's store was given a/§2,000 fine and two years probation Wednesday after being found guilty on two counts of sexual assault. Ralph Townsend, 54, was convicted in Vancouver county court April 24. Charges against the security guard were originally laid following incidents in which he was accused by two 22-year-old women of placing his hands inside their underclothing while questioning them in Woodward's Park Royal security office. In testimony, one of the women said that Townsend fad offered to waive any shoplifting charges against ter if she agreed to 2 sex act with him. Townsend, who was acquitted on 4 third charge of attempting to extort sexual intercourse by threats, denied touching either woman, He was sentenced in Vancouver county court. Booze stolen from diner TWENTY bottles of liquor, worth an estimated $500, were stolen from a Lower Lonsdale restaurant Thursday between 1:30 and 8:50 a.m. The thieves gained entrance to the restaurant by forcing entry and causing $100 worth of damage. North Vancouver RCMP are investigating. Purse snatcher grabs $230 AFTER leaving the Bank of Nova Scotia Friday afternoon, at Ith Street and Lonsdale, a woman lost $230 when a man snatched her purse. The thief was last seen southbound on Chesterfield, and was described as white, muscular-ouilt, darkly-tanned and between the ages of 20 and 25. He had dark brown hair, below the eta, and was wearing shiny, black knee-length cycling shorts and no shirt.
