Glass broken ‘by accident’

A man who said he
“walked into” the glass door
at Mac's Milk at Londsale
and 12th Street and broke it
has been found not guilty of
a charge of wilful damage.

Darcy Markowski and his
friend Bruce McDonald told
North Vancouver provincial
court the door was broken
by accident when they went
to the store to buy cigarcttes
shortly after 2°00 am
October 6.

“The door came down hke
water,” said McDonald after
Markowski said he put his
knee and boot through the
door thinking it was open.

THREE PEOPLE were fluslied out of a bush area
by a police dog and a fourth was captured when

he mistakenly sat in a unmarked car after a foiled
break-in at a house on Capilano Road Monday

afternoon.

The burgiary was in-
terrupted when the owner of
the house noticed people
moving inside as she was
returning home.

She went to a neighbor's
home and phoned the police.

But by the time North
Vancouver RCMP arrived,
the intruders had left the
house, suspecting they had
been noticed..

Three had holed up in a
nearby wood and one fled
