THEATRE... What a wonderfully inspired choice North Vancouver

Community Players have made with their current production of

Timothy Findley's The Stillborn Lover.
It is a subtle, yet movingiy powerful story of the tragedies inher-

ent in silence and deception.

The play is set against a cynical backdrop of Canadian and inter-
national politics in 1972, yet fleetingly recalls earlier times of polit-
ict idealism. An intensely personal story gradually unfolds against

a societal vision.

A Strong cast and good direction made for an engrossing evening of theatre. although the sub-
ject matter visibly shocked some audience members the night I attended.
‘The Stillborn Lover runs to Saturday, April 20 at Hendry Hall and is an entry in the North
Shore Zone Festival of Plays at Presentation House May 1.
