About 10 angry apart- ment-dwellers appeared before council in hopes of getting some relief from the noise before warmer weather sets in. They asked that the restaurant be closed from midnight to 6 a.m. Coun. Bob Fearnley said lors agreed. Bur for Ruth Bochm, a single mother of wo children, there is no broader issue. “tt’s been difScult for my children, living like this. My — children don’t get any sleep,” she said. Boehm, a representative of the North Shore Housing Co-op, has been living in the building for the past six years. Every summer, when it’s tao hot to keep the windows closed, she takes her two chil- dren to Sechelt to escape from the noise. Boehm said her window faces into an alleyway, which is constantly littered with. nee- dles, fires, graffiti and people using the alleyway as a toilet.
