The program will be available again for another year thanks to the support of Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Since the start of the program two years ago, the Host Program has helped close to 200 individ- uals and families feel welcome in their new North Shore home through the efforts of vol- unteers in the community. Volunteers spend three hours per week for approximately six months helping newcomers learn more about the North Shore community, the activities and services available and ways to Participate. Newcomers also have opportunities to practice their English skills and ask questions about Canadian culture and customs.
