AND YOUR TAXES

The total residential property assessments for
1991/92 in the District of North Vancouver have in-
creased by 40% since the 1989/90 assessment roil.
Taxpayers shouid not expect that taxes will increase
simply because assessments have gone up.

Even if there is no change in the tax levy there will
be a change in your tax if your assessment change
is something other than the average increase. If your
assessment increase is greater than 40% your pro-
perty tax will increase. On the other hand, if your
assessment increase is less than 40% your tax will

decrease.

lf you are concerned with the increase in your
assessment, you may appeal it up to October 31,-
1990. Details on how to appeal are on the property
assessment notice that you received earlier this
month from the BC. Assessment Authority.
