NE OF the great off- shoots of the do-it- yourself movement in the arts community is that talents from af! disci- plines have taken the initia- tive to mount their own shows rather than wait around for promoters, agents and venues to do it for them, Certainly this was the impetus for North Van actress/visual artist Michele Goodger and West Van singer/songwriter/visu- ‘al artist Claire Murray whose dual show of recent works is opening Saturday, April 9, from 7 p.m. to 17 p.m. and running through April 30 at the’ Cafe du Soleil at 1393 Commercial Dr. “The opening night will be a combination of both of our visu- al art work and Claire’s music,” says Goodger, who first met Murray five years ago, eventual- ly becoming roornmates and sharing a bevy of interests. “| find that other people's creativity inspires me. It’s like a cycle through which we feed each other.
