Seniors can visit sea lion colony NORTH SHORE Neighbourhood House is hosting a popular trip for seniors to visit the largest sea lion colony in Georgia Straight, located just east of Nanaimo. Participants will ferry to Nanaimo then watk approximately two blocks to board a 66 foot- long charted yacht called The Bas- tion City. Heat a frying pan and add the olive oil. Saute the onions, garlic, celery and carrot until they just begin to brown a bit. Add to the pot along with all remaining ingredients. Bring to a light boil and then turn to a sim- * . mer. This is a very popular soup in Rome and has been so for hun- dreds of years. THE SOUP 4 cups Basic Chicken Stock (reci- pe above) 4 cups fresh or canned beef sto-« Salt and freshly groun! olack pepper THE “RAGS”’ 3 eggs, beaten 4 tablespoons semolina or regular flour 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon peel Pinch of salt GARNISH Italian parsley, chopped Parmesan cheese, freshly grated Mix the stocks for the soup in a large soup pot. Bring to a simmer and season io taste with the salt and pepper. Beat the cggs, flour and cheese together. Add the lemon peel and salt and “% cup of the mixed soup stock.
