THE BRITISH Columbia Ferry
Corp.'s fall schedule came into ef-
fect Sept. 9.

There are currently 11 daily sail-
ings between Horseshoe Bay and
Nanaimo. Departure times from
Horseshoe Bay are 7, 9, 10, and 11
a.m. and 1, 2,3, 5, 6, 7 and 9 p.m.

On the Horseshoe Bay to
Langdale route, the summer
schedule has been extended
through to Oct. 13. There are eight
sailings daily on the Sunshine
Coast run.

Sailings from Tsawwassen and
Swartz Bay are every hour on the
hour from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with
the last departure at 9 p.m.

Chambers of
commerce meet

THE NORTH and West Van-
couver chambers of commerce will
host today their first combined
meeting in an effort to help pro-
mote tourism on the North Shore.

Scheduled to begin at noon to-
day, the meeting will be held at
North Vancouver’s Canyon
Gardens Restaurant.

Featured speaker will be
Tourism B.C.'s assistant deputy of
marketing Ad Van Haasten.

Sept. 14:

Kevin Stesen Lowrie was fined
$100 after the 20-yeat-old North
Vancouver man pleaded guilty to a
charge of possession of marijuana.

Daniel John Giatlay received a
conditional discharge, was placed
on probation for six months and
ordered to perform 25 hours of
community work service after the
25-year-old North Vancouver man
pleaded guilty to a charge of
possession of marijuana.

Before Judge J3.K. Shaw in North
Vancouver provincial court: Sept.
th:

Bill Gregory Werbowski was
fined $500 and prohibited from
driving for three months after the
22-year-old North Vancouver man
pleaded guilty to a charge of fail-
ing to stop at the scene of an Aug.
} accident at 23rd Street and
Lonsdale Avenue.

Richard Avilla Lukaes was Sined
$1,000 and sentenced to three
months in jail after the 2)-year-old
Coquitlam man pleaded guilty to a
charge of driving while prohibited.

Gabor Immerick Barcza was
given a conditional discharge and
placed on probation for one year
after the 20-year-old North Van-
couver man pleaded guilty to a
charge cf stealing two red BRC

9:

Larry Douglas Brisbin received a
suspended sentence and was placed
on probation for one year after the
33-year-old North Vancouver man
pleaded guilty to dealing in a forg-
ed drug prescription.
