JUNIOR FOOTBALL antam Argos THE BANTAM Argos improved their record in junior football action to three wins and two losses with their 28-6 thumping of the Westside Warriors Sept. 28 at Eldon Park. Argos’ running back Chris Harris turned in a sparkling perfor- mance in the game as he rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Harris also hauled in a 38-yard pass from a fake punt and recorded six solo tackles from the outside linebacker position. Quarterback Merritt Hutchins directed the Argo offense completing four of seven passes for 116 yards. Hutchins also thrilled the fans with a dazzling 33-yard touchdown run from a broken play. Wide receiver Ross Joughin had a fine afternoon catching three passes for 101 yards as well as returning seven punts for 125 yards. The Argo defense surrendered a single touchdown in the contest. Defensive end Dion Fatafehi stood out, recording seven solo tackles including two sacks and a two-point safety touch. Warren Castley lead the defence with eight solo tackles. Auto Parts NW. Shore cricketers finish fine season THE NORTH Shore Cricket Club (NSCC) finished the 1986 season with its First Team winning its division and the coveted Gardner- Johnson Shield. NSCC’s Second Team finished second in its division while its Third Team placed third in its division, Both the First and Second Teams are consequently assured of automaiic promotions. The Third Team may, or may not, be promoted. First Team players, Stephen Hinkson, Gary Collins, Ken Brad- shaw, Howard Griffiths, Franklyn, King, Gai Jadhav, Bill Sims, Larry White, Doug Ede, Jim Mitchell, Sam Gaekwad — nephew of Jai Jadhau who was visiting from In- dia, all performed creditably dur- ing the season. Meanwhile, Jim Matthew, Alistair Barrett, Richard Walker, Chico Sahota, Kris Hira, Decker Haig, and Aaron Tejani bowled splendidly. Special mention must be made of Gary Collins, Peter Cantelo, Bill Image, Bernie De Verteuil, Bob Adie (Jr.), Martin Eccles, Salim Nathani, Jim Matthew, Graham Matthew and Joel Aguiton, who fielded well all season, and of Bill Price, Bob Adie (Sr.) and Peter Pisani who kept wicket.
