8 - Friday, August 29, 1986 - North Shore News NO CRIME Lynn Vailey’s heart ‘good’ Dear Editor: As a resident of Lynn Valley 1 fee! that | must protest to the arti- cle of August 13 entitled Noisy Teens Infuriate Lynn Valley Resi- denis. I tive in the ‘heart’ of Lynn Valley and have never experienced any problems like being a victim of any crime. As the local detachment of the RCMP reported at a community association meeting last fal] our community enjoys one of the jowest crime rates on the North Shore. Your article however suggests that Lynn Valley is a war zone with crime running rampant. This is simply not true. To compare Lynn Valley to East-Side New York is not only an injustice but an insult to all Lynn Valley residents. The resident who made such a statement doesn't have to worry about ‘‘reprisals’’ from teens but rather from angry homeowners who thanks to her have to worry about the depreciating value of their homes! Mrs. Hoge Lynn Valley resident News wins awards Dear Editor: Like so many other thousands of residents on the North Shore [| en- joy reading your newspaper. It was especially of interest to learn that the News has again won awards for excellence in competi- tion with nearly 200 weekly news- papers in the province. Heartiest congratulations to publisher Peter Speck, and editor- in-chief Noel Wright. Best wishes for your continued success.
