The purpose of this pro- gram is to ensure that Grade 12 students meet consistent prpvincial standards of achkiévement in the academic subjects, and also ensure that graduating students from*all schools in the province will be treated equitably When ap- plying for jobs or for admis- sion to universities and other post-secondary institutions. Students receive their final mark for a course in the form of a letter grade and this let- ter grade is now determined by averaging the percentage mark earned at school, and the precentage marks earned on the provincial examina- tion. For example, a student earns a school mark of 78% and an exam mark of 82%. dicates, this results tn a letter grade of ‘B’.
