A total of twenty- one parenting groups got together last year. The course teaches skills that enable positive relationships to grow bet- ween parents and their children. Subjects explored include parental attitudes ands values, discipline methods that respect both parent and child, and how both go about talking and listening to each other. Most participants rated Positive Parenting as an unqualified success. The new skills were effective and the course renewed their own sense of fun and en- joyment with their children. Said one mother, “It has given me _ direction and inspiration” and a Dad “I've changed my ways of tackling problems and am getting a better response.” So it’s back to school and un club begins and experienced Y staff and your child is assured a safe and happy morning.
