After all, when the weather's hot and sticky, it tends to slow down all those primeval passions of the true spectator. With three regular season wins under théir belts and the status of being the only undefeated team in the Canadian Football League, the ‘Lions are certainly looking good. Critics can talk of the Lions tendency to go rapidly downhill after the early season glow has worn off, or the fact that the Lions have only had to battle scrawny Eastern teams so far this season. But all of this could not detract from the simple pleasure of watching the temperature makes even heading to the fridge a chore, then how in heaven's name are we supposed to get” excited about competitive sport? Here on the west coast, this hot summer lethargy won't last for more than a couple of weeks. After all, there's probably another rainy front moving in which will give us back that need to head for the stadium and to warm up the TV. B.C.
