WV dancer going to China

West Vancouver's
foremost lady of
modern dance, Anna
Wyman, has just
returned from China
where, next month,
she will tour her
popular and prominent
company, The An-
na Wyman Dance
Theatre.

The Theatre has received
a special invitation to travel
to The People’s Republic of
China. They are extremely
excited to be the = first
moder dance company to
perform in that country.

The tour dates are set for
December 14 to January 4.

Ms. Wyman has recently
returned from China where
she was attending the
National Minonties Dance
Festival. She was invited as
the Canadian representative
to partake tin the festival with
other notable. internathonal

figures mm the Performing
Arts.

During her five day stay in
Bei-Jing (Peking), Wyman
was personally escorted by
members of the sponsoring
organization, the Chinese
Dance Association. Each
night she attended dance
performances of different
cultural groups. Their
Proficiency in dance
technique and their high
quality productions im-
pressed her greatly.

She was also given ex-
cellent opportunities to see
the historical, and current
sights of the city, and to
expenence the lifestyle of its
people. Wyman was over-
whelmed with the Chinese
people's optimism and
excitement surrounding her
company’s upcoming visit.

The company’s tour in-
cludes pubhc performances
in five different towns. They
fly to Hong Kong on
