Rights maniacs loose ’ collin on the other hand DULCIE Baxter of West Vancouver was right when she said that the push to combat “homophobia” in the schools was in fact a program to promote homosexuality. As a former teacher, she must know what she’s talking about where the B.C. Teachers’ Federation is con- cerned. I would go further and say that what they are after is the sanctification of sodomy. The BCYTF is dominated by socialists and weirdos. Has been for years. That's why it leads the parade where the things most people detest are concerned. That includes multiculenr- alism, immigration, affirmative action, militant feminism, throwing the taxpayers’ money away, and devil wor- ship of al: kinds. So it follows that they now want to get the kids to be tender with regard to homosexuality. ~ ‘That?s what it boils down to. Barbara Amiel had a good expression for what such social engineers are up to. She catled it “creeping ¢ social rovalitarian- ism. Take no notice of all the gandy dancing, like the lie thar all this involves is “teach- ing, aids” that may or may not be used. The record speaks for itself. The pushers of perversion talk about combating “hetera- sexism,” by which they mean normal sex. Not that the BCT¥ knows much about words. Phe very word “homophobia” is so much bilge. “Homo” is the Latin root for “man,” and “phobia” means “fear.” So “homophobia” means, literal- ly, the ee car of men. The fight for teaching homosexuality in the schools has been led by the Gay and Lesbian Educators (GALE). It is to the discredit of today’s society that such peo- ple even dare to make them- selves public. (“Meet nice Mr. Dick, Johny. He’s your gay teacher. Just do what he says, Johnny.”) According to B.C. Report magazine, GALE recom- mends six novels for teens All six feature “torrid same-sex affairs.” And a GALE pam- phlet for school children titled I Think I Might Be Gay Or Lesbian states: “For girls, you may feel you are attracted to other girls or to other women. For boys, you may find yourself (sic) falling in love with your class- mates or developing a crush on an older man. This kind of thing is already rampant in San Francisco, the homo capital of the continent. Down there, states a read- r, “The queer city council has torced United Air Lincs to extend same-sex benefits to all of its employees or else they won't be allowed to land in Sodom by-the Sea.” Another reader reports there are ads in our buses “urging teenagers to consult the Gay and Lesbian Centre ‘to find out their identiny.’ * Believe the propaganda about the BCTF’s desire to combat “homophobia” if you will, And then consider that homosexuality has come 2 hell of a long way since Pierre Trudeau muttered something about the state having no business in the bedrooms of the nation. The human rights maniacs, federally and provincially, fer- vendy support homosexuality. So do most Liberal politicians. The outstanding example is Vancouver's Hedy Fry, Secretary of State for Multiculturalism. She spends most of her time promoting “gay rights.” Plus every other nutty cause she can think of. She even wants to put “queer culture” under the banner of multicultural fund- ing. Or so she told Xtra! West last year. None are more favorabie to the sodomite cause than those NDP loonies over in Victoria. They have wooed Mary- Woo Sims into being Chief Commissioner of the new B.C. Human Rights Commission. Who is she? Well, she was described cestat- ically in Toronto's Xtra! as being “one of Foronto’s lead: ing lesbian activists.” She has the tiple advan- tage of being a woman, a les- bian and of Chinese extrac- tion. She was also a former member of the Ontario NDP's governing council. Better qualified they don’t come as far as the socialists are concerned. As for that BCTF matter, it’s time for parents to revolt, as thev did in Coquitlam when the school board reject- ed the same sort of thing the BCTF has just approved of. Twenty years ago I sug- gested that the kids learn about homosexuality — about its dangers to health and how it can be resisted. But | never dreamt it would be promoted. If the school boards do nothing, just do your best to get your kids out of the public schools. — The North Shore News believes strongly in freedom of speech and the right of all sides in a debate to be heard.
