weather. Although it’s
still some time away, to
many, Easter marks the
. arrival of spring, and
with the long, cold win-
ter months nearly
‘behind us, Canadians
are eager to enjoy ‘the
sights, sounds and
tastes of the season.
Spring is the season of
new beginnings, and many
traditional symbols of Easter
signify its arrival. The first
blooms of the year, chirping
birds, colored eggs and bunnies are all sym-
-bols of new life in Easter celebrations, The
rabbit is one of the most popular Easter
symbols, particularly for children who, on
Easter morning, search for colored eggs left
by the Easter Bunny during the night.
With just a few ingredients and some
helping hands, these Popcorn Easter
Bunnies can come to fife. The kids will love
creating their own bunnies on Easter week-
end, and brightly-coiored M&M’s® chaco-

late candies make them a treat that will hap
right into everyone’s heart.

M&Ms Popcorn Bunnies

% c. (50 mL) butter or margarine

4c. (1 L) miniature marshmallows

8c. (2 L) popped popcorn

%e. (125 mL) M&Ms Semi-Sweet Baking

Melt the butter and marshmallows
together in a double boiler. Stir constantly
to prevent sticking. Stir popcorn into mix-
ture until popcorn is evenly coated. Rub a
bit or butter on clean hands. While the mix-
ture is still warm, roll into balls.

You need one large ball for the body of
each bunny; one medium ball for the head
and one small ball for the tail (or use a
marshmallow for the tail). Assemble pop-
corn balls for form bunny, Finish each
bunny by forming large floppy ears and
whiskers with shoestring licorice or pipe
cleaners and using M&M’s® for the eves
and nose. Decorate the bunny with addi-
tional M&M’s® Baking Bits. Wrap bunny in
plastic wrap secured with ribbon and place it
in Easter Basket.

Makes 4 large or 6 medium bunnies.
