the North American Hairstyling Awards in New Orleans.

The awards are regarded as the Oscars of the hair fash-
ion world, according to Holt. Over 6,000 salons from
across Canada, the United States and Mexico competed
for just eight trophies. ‘Three of the trophies were won by
Canadian stylists.

Among those who judged the winning entries were
fashion editors from the New York magazines Mirabella,
Harpers Bazaar and Cosmopolitan.

Holt, who was a finalist in two categories, received his
award in the makeover category. Holt worked with Avant
Garde colorist Linda Greben to create a portfolio of a half-

with an ignition source such as can-
dles, sparks from fireplaces, match-
es or lighters, it may ignite readily
and burn within seconds resulting in
serious burn injuries.

According to Health Canada,
Canadian manufacturers and retail-
ers have stopped using the affected
fleece fabrics and have initiated
recalls of clothing made from them.
