Sentinel school to get new library

SCHOOL BOARD

WEST Vancouver
School District 45 board
agreed Monday night to
seck approval from the
Ministry of Education to
build a new ‘‘state of the
art’ library at Sentinel sec-
ondary school.

The new concrete library fits in
with the distriet’s seismic
upgrading project. The facility
would make available three
classrooms located in the the ex-
isting library.

The library would be two

storeys high and would connect -

the school’s north, west and south
wings.

The design improves the move-
ment ‘of students through the
school and meets the education
ministry's space standards by be-
ing 1-3/4 times the size of the ex-
isting library,

The new library would cost an
estimated. $835,000, The province

would pay $446,000 in the form of

aseismic upgrade grant,

Duo sentenced
in WV court

TWO MEN were recently jailed 91
days in connection with a charge
of stealing merchandise belonging
to Super Valu in West Vancouver.

Wallace. David Beaton, of Van-
couver, and Terrence Herber
MeVeeters, of no fixed address,
both listed in court records as 61
years old, pleaded guilty to the
Nov. 28 charge.

Each. man also received 24
months’ probation.
