Shaw Cable wins mational awards NORTH SHORE-based Shaw Cable has won two 1989 national awards for excellence from the Canadian Cable Television Association (CCTA), which repre- sents over 1,000 cable systems across Canada. The awards were presented at the association’s May 10 national convention in Toronto. Shaw placed first in the documentary category for Urban Salmon, which documents the in- volvement of the North Shore communities: in picerving and revitalizing the focal salmon resource. The program, which features school children and their salmon education projects and programs, was produced by Shaw and the West Vancouver Coho Festival Society. Shaw also won first place in the CCTA’s seniors category for its West Vancouver 75 Achievers Awards, Celebrating the contributions of 75 West Vancouver pionecrs and Citizens who were selected by the ‘i've got the key : to your future! § D.
