As a YMCA volunteer, youths become involved in assisting sum- mer day camp counsellors through understanding age group charac- teristics of children, working with special needs children and assisting on out-trips. Each person chooses a minimum of one week of sum- mer daycamp to act as a volunteer, which is required as part of the program.
