Playwright wins honor

NORTH VANCOUVER playwright
Maureen Robinson has won the
New Play Centre’s province-wide
one-act piay competition.

Robinson was one of four play-
wrights to win the competition for
her comedy Nitebooth. The con-
test marks the return of the New

Play Centre's one-act play festival.

Nitebooth, originally pertormed
at the North Shore Zone of the
Theatre B.C. Drama Festival in
1987, will be staged as the cen-
trepiece of Springrites ‘90, a play
festival that runs from Mar.22 -Apr.
8 at the Waterfront Theatre.
