MELANIE REDLICH of North Vancouver's Flicka Club triumph- ed at the Divisional gymnastics competition Feb. 26, scoring first in the Il and under category to become the best all-around com- petitor in her division. Over seven clubs from the Lower Mainland attended the meet, hosted by Flicka. Flicka had an outstanding day, placing first in the club category. In the divisional category. Flicka took #1 out of 24 top placings in the Best All- Around category. Ten-year-old Redlich finished with the highest combined score of the day with 33.45 points in floor, bars, vault and beam. Sara Greenwood, a Flicka divisional “*A"’ gymnast in the 11 and under category, had a close second with 33.33 points. Laura Mazur of Flicka placed best all-around in the provincial “C’’ under-10 category. In the divisional ‘*A*’ 12 and over cate- gory, Caitlyn Vernon of Renfrew Club placed first, with a total of 32.89 points. Reka Sztopa of Renfrew trium- phed in the divisional ‘*B’’ 11 and under category with 32.20 points. In divisional ‘*B’’ 12 and over, Delta Gems’ Corinne Mayar plac- ed best all-around with a total of 31.20 points. Special performance awards were given for gymnasts showing good sportsmanship, and team spirit. This project will be ongoing for the period February 27, 1989 to March 31, 1989 and will necessitate continuing twenty minute closures during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Fridays.
