WV cricket
gets a third

. . VANCOUVER
Cricket Club is busily
preparing for the new season
which gets underway at the
end of April.

in an endeavour to attract
more cricketeers, experi-
enced or otherwise, the club
has entered a Third Team in
the B.C. Mainland Cricket
League this year.

The West Vancouver Club
will now be represented in
the First, Third and Fifth
Divisions of the Mainland
League and will offer cricket
at a competitive level to
players of all standards.

Junior cricket is fostered
through a special program in
three age categorics, 8-11,
12-13, 14-16 years. The
North Shore section of this
program is encouraged by
West Vancouver Club, prac-
tices on Tuesday evenings at
Hugo Ray Park and plays in
a Saturday morning League
May through July. Expert
coaching is provided.

The West Vancouver
Third Team has been formed
to provide graduates from
the Junior program with an
Opportunity to continue with
the game and improve to a

presently volunteering
for the Centre or for
those who wish to be.

It’s purpose is to prepare
volunteers to be efficient and
effective leaders in Recre-
ation settings.
