BANQUET Botnen in award runnin ANITA BOTNEN of West Vancouver will be one of three finalists for B.C. Junior Athlete of the Year at the Sport B.C. annual banquet February 6. Botnen, who is Canada’s fourth ranked woman gymnast, will be up against Diana Haight of Fruitvale, and Kathy Kelemen of Richmond. Botnen, who competed on the Canadian team at the World Gymnastics Championships in Moscow last year, is a member of North Vancouver's Flicka gymnastics club. Haight is the first North American to win the Europa Cup overall ski title, while Kelemen is the junior world diving champion for her age class. Finalists for senior athlete of the year are skier Gerry Sorenson, golfer Dick Zokol and tennis player Nina Bland.
