North Shore schools “post “banner season

NORTH SHORE schools post-
ed their most successful single
season ever in B.C. playoff
competitions this winter.

A total of seven teams have fin-

- ished in first or second place at their

respective "provincial tournaments
since Christmas. And. with West
Vancouver ‘still competing in the

B.C. triple-A basketball tournament
(yesterday’ 's score was not available
to press time), and Sentinel set to
compete atthe B.C,. Badminton

:tournament. in April, that number

could grow.

Carson Graham set the tone by

. sweeping both boys and girls senior

titles at the B.C. wrestling tourney .
last month.

in.the inaugural B.C, Snowboard
championships. in’ Whistler,
Collingwood and Handswerth tied
for the team title. The first-place fin-
ish marked the Cavaliers’ first-ever
provincial gold medal in any sport.

Handsworth also won the B.C.
Girls’ Gymnastic meet. Hillside was
third.

in basketball, Windsor’s senior
girls’ squad finished second in the
B.C. double-A tournament, while
Collingwood won the girls’ single-
A crown.
