Until the end of October, it appeared likely that the 8,000 board members would experience ancther record year, eclipsing historic highs achieved in 1989, Slowing sales in the last two months of the year, however, resuited in 33,914 residential sales, just 5% less than the 35,458 saies of 1989, but a soaring 61% higher than the 21,094 sold in 1990. The overall simplistic average price of residential housing sold through MLS in Greater Vancouver actu- ally shows a 1% decline, from $226,385 in 1990 to $221,874 in 1991.
