unwise with the doctor

Q. Of late | have been geiting a bad, bad headache — a
sharp pain that lasts a minute or two and then goes away —
when I have an orgasm. It’s killing my sex life.

Nothing showed up in X-rays, a
head scan or eye examination. The
doctors were not looking for sex-
ually linked ailments because I did
not mention the orgasm = connec-
tion.

A. It was less than helpful not to
tell the doctors the circumstances
in which you felt the pain. No doc-
tor can help you if you play hide-
and-seek like that. That’s just silly.
Go again to a medical doctor to
tule out any possible physical
cause, and for goodness sake tell
this doctor that this pain comes to
you at orgasm.

If all physical cause is then ruled
out, find a psychologist and try to
discover the underlying reasons for
tension when you are having sex.
Don't ignere this condition and
don’t make it hard for the profes-
sional you seek help from.

| have never encountered this
condition in any client, but lately I
have had some letters about it. Ifa
client told me about it in my prac-
tice, | would send her to a medical
doctor, of course.

Q. Lam a widow of 65, fully in-
dependent in al} ways since J have
no children. What about starting
up a live-together relationship in-
stead of a marriage? Any objec-
tions you can think of?

A. The first thought I have is,

does this widow of 65 have a cer-
tain partner in mind? What docs
he want? Was this no-contract ar-
rangement his idea or hers?
