North Vancouver City’s
1958 fire truck has finally
found a home - at the
Transporaton Museum at
Richmond.

City council Monday
passed a motion by
Alderman Gary Payne to
display the LaFrance Aenal
fire truck at the museum for
a $50 a month maintenance
fee for the first year and then
to decide whether to give the
truck outright to the
museum.

Council made the decision
after hearing a report by Bill
Baker, the director of the
North Shore museum.

He informed council that
there was no space on the
North Shore to store the
truck and recommended the

truck should be retained at
the transporation museum.
The 1958 vehicle has been
a subject of council debate
on and off this year since a

move to sell the truck to
Creston fell through.
Appraisers had placed the
value of the truck at $23,000
but the City director of
