priority to receive School
District 44 funds this year.
The money, estimated at
$272,220 in the preliminary
capital budget, will go
towards a cafeteria, drama,
and multi-purpose area.

Special study for
Fullerton fill

THE FULLERTON FILL
area could become a public
access area — possibly an
aquatic village — after a
special study by the City of
North Vancouver.

The study will determine
“alternatives for the most
advantageous use of the
site,” according to a staff
report presented to City
council Monday night.

Alderman Gary Payne, in
recommending the study,
told council the land should
no longer be industrial.

“It is not the highest and
best use of the land, ” he

said. “It should be an
aquatic village.”
The land, lying south of

the B.C. Rail right-of-way
between Gostick and
McKay Avenue, is a mixture
of vacant and industrial
property. One section of it
houses a major portion of
the Forsythe Equipment
operation.

Along with the study, a
public hearing will also be
set. The date of the hearing
has not yet been determined.
