Options for
volunteers

THE FOLLOWING is a selection
of volunteer opportunities available
through North Shore Community
Services (NSCS).

A volunteer executive director
is needed by an organization that
helps support a library. Time com-
mitment would be about one day a
week. Duties include setting up an
office and working with board
members and volunteer staff.

A friendly visitor is needed to
visit and spend time playing cards,
scrabble and other activities with a
person who has a brain injury.
Volunteer times are between 3 and 4
p.m. any week day.

Office assistants are needed by
a new women’s organization con-
cemed with menopause. Duties
include answering telephones, help-
ing office visitors find information,
preparing charts for consultations,
confirming appointments and more.

Coordinators are needed to
help with a rummage sale that rais-
es money for an organization con-
cemed with welfare. Tea-oriented
volunteers can choose to be in
charge of books, children’s toys or
kitchen items.

Two volunteers are needed to
book appointments for the free
income tax preparation service
for low income people. Bookings
are done weekday mornings from
Feb. 19 to April 22.
