Cyclist on road to L.A.

hockey playoffs. Last Sun-
day at the Rec Centre, they
won their third game in a row
and their fourth in five
games.

This puts the Rowdies one
point out of second place and
with the tough part of their
schedule over, they have a
good chance to end in second
in the race for a top finishing

Mudry won 66 points ina
30 kilometre points race,
beating second place cyclist
Louis Riel of Winnipeg by
22 points. In the four
kilometre Individual Pursuit,

Mudry was second with a
qualifying time of 5:11:94,
while first place went to
Gary,//Altwasser of Calgary
who had a qualifying time of
5:09:47.

The trials were held at the
Glenmore Velodrome in

Calgary June 10. The top
three competitors from this
event will meet the top three
from the Eastern trials in the
final selections June 22 to 24
in Edmonton.

This week Mudry is at
training camp.

The Bravo Pizza
Rowdymen are the highest
scoring team in the Western
Ball Hockey League and have
started to work on their goals
against. Top defensive pair
Ken Charles and Dale
Stackowski have the best
plus/minus on the team and
possibly the league.

for all divisions taking place
June 19, 20 — 7:30 to 9:30
p.m.

Shore Winter Club Pee Wee
A and Junior B Flames in the
Provincial Finals with our
Midget A and Midget B
teams taking the Provincial
Championships.

Summer programs. are
under way at the NSWC, in-
cluding special training pro-
grams, and in September
‘*Skates Only’’ a really top
hockey school. Coaching
positions are now being filled
and with the new ‘‘face lhift’’
given to the ice rinks it pro-
mises to be a great new
season with one of the most
skilled and competitive
hockey programs in British
Columbia.
