Empire fruit cakes, about
five pounds, regular 65
cents, were on special for 49
cents. Fancy quality
pineapple pound cakes of
the same weight, were
reduced from $1.00 to 79
cents

Tea was three pounds for
a dollar and freshly roasted
coffee 29 cents per Ib. A
single buck bought you three
dozen Sunkist oranges and
for two bits you could buy
two dozen juicy lemons.

Fruit pica were nine cents
each. A 49 Ib. sack of
Spencer's flour cost $1.59.
Campbell's tomato soup was
going for six cents a tin,
cight-ounce cartons of
peanut butter for seven cents
and packets of Jello, all
flavours, for four and a half
cents (whatever become of
