North Shore Pegasus had been hoping to have games on the North Shore for matches against Seattle Sounder reserves, Portland Timber reserves, plus other top teams in the tough development league. but the club has been refused permission to play on any fields for four games spread Over (wo months According to Peter Scott, who coaches the senior team as well as being the head man with the overall organization which supports five teams, no parks will be in summer available for soccer on the North Shore after May. This will force the club to reschedule their home games against the top flight competition over to Van- couver where there are parks available Pegasus have been described as one of the three top amateur clubs in’ the country. They are presently preparing for a summer season in the Pacific North West Soccer league which includes teams from Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers, Simon Fraser, the Fraser Valley The competition will be the best outside the North Amenecan Soccer League and yet the Pegasus organization as totally discouraged and — perhaps ready to pack in thei North Shore affiliation During the winter season, Pegasus draws in y number Pegasus knocked off N.Shore No fields available of Canadians who play tn the North Amenecan Soccer League. The players come to the North Shore Club because of the competition and the coaching they receive. It also provides North Shore spectators to see some pretty exciting soccer However, this may soon be coming to a close. Pegasus teams play in the Pacific North West League. the second division, the graduate league, a womens team plus a team inthe North Shore Industria! soccer league They also provide a soccer chme for youngsters on the North Shore each summer, with plans for this summer already well advanced “To sometimes wonder why we even bother’ said Scott week, obviously discouraged after receiving nothing but setbacks in his last dealing with North Shore park officials.
