Now they are looking forward to showing off their new premises at a Dec. 10 open house. The preschool’s portable is located on the grounds at Highlands School at 3150 Col- wood. After 11 years in the school building, the preschool was asked to move out due to increased enrolment at Highlands. Preschool president Wendy Evans says the organization received a $15,000 grant from the Vancouver Foundation, $5,000 from the Ministry of Social Ser- vices and Housing, $250 from the Bentall Foundation and $500 from Chevron Canada. The rest of the funds needed for the portable, ap- proximately $12,000, was raised by the 32 families in the preschool. Evans also cites the support of the District of North Vancouver for refunding their $2,400 water and sewer hook-up fee, and of the North Vancouver School Board for allowing the preschool to put their portable on the grounds of Highlands school. The Village Preschool, which holds classes for three and four year olds three days per week, is one of 11 North Shore branches of the Parent Participation Preschools of B.C. The Dec. 10 open house will take place at the portable between 1 and 3 p.m. Parents, friends and neighbors are all welcome. mime ab dt i ag feviRes YOUR COMMUNITY MINDED FULL SERVICE STATION 3O89_txgemont bid.
