Volcanoes, Seventh Division
under 11 year-old girls soccer
squad, went down to hotly
contested defeat Sunday in
the Fifth Annual Sun Tour-
nament of Champions held at
Swangard Stadium, losing
1-0 to the Surdel Devils.

In their first Sun Tourna-
ment appearance, the

Volcanges put in an excellent
effort dominating play
throughout the first half, but
were unable to score. Surdel!
made no mistake on their
single first half shot on goal.

On Saturday, in the
16-year girls Second Division
North Shore Renegades fell
3-0 to Surdel Strikers. It was
the Renegades fifth straight

appearance in the Sun Tour-
nament and their first tour-
nament loss.

The Renegades were com-
pensated for theii loss by
winning the tournament's
most sportsman-like team
trophy. Renegade, Marie-
Jeane Versey was also
selecied to the divisional all-
star squad.
