Lynne Stones recently toured several elementary schools . and preschools on the North Shore io - introrluce her style of children’s song: ‘and stories to a wide age -cgroup ot children. “~~ Stones has two albums out, “Bananas in his Eyebrows” and “sBlast-off,” of which the former was nominated in 1987 for a Juno Award for Best Children’s Album. -*. Earlier in her career, Stones sang with another well-known children’s ‘entertainer, and together they were known. as The Diamond Stones. . Stones says she likes to sing to all ‘members of the family, from tod- diers right through to their grand- ’- The Jan. 29 performances will be held at the Centennial Theatre at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets are still available from Upper. Lonsdale Preschool or through fund-raising _ chairperson Jeannette Finney at 988-3589. Tickets are $4.50 per person, and should be reserved soon. Upper Lonsdale Preschool, sponsor of the event, last year presented two sold-out perfor- mances of Charlotte Diamond, with the proceeds going to new equipment for their preschool. -The preschool’s history dates back to 1954, before it was based at its current location at North Lonsdale United Church. .
