The man had been searching newspapers for a used computer and found one in the Buy and Sell. When he attended the address listed for the equip- ment he was greeted by a teen in Grade 8. The teen showed him five laprop computers that he had for sale. The man noted that one of the iaptops was without a serial number, When he turned it on the fax area code was from the United States. The man left to think about the purchase and returned a few hours later. When he asked too many questions the father of the boy told him to leave. Police investigators found that the computers were possibly broughi in from the United States by a member of the family. By the time police attended the home, the computers were gone. Man faces theft charge A 28-year-old West Vancouver man faces attempted rob- bery charges following an incident in the 900- block of Marine Drive in North Vancouver. Two RCMP officers were patrolling the area at approx- imately 10:50 p.m. on Jan. 9 when they noticed a man standing in the dark on the east side of the Red Hot video store. The officers went to speak with him. The man became nervous. The investigating officers found that the man had a nylon stocking and a shotgun shell in one of his pockets. ‘A police dog was brought in to search the area. Police found a loaded shotgun next to a car. They also found the man’s car with a door open and a key in the ignition. The suspect is an American citizen and lives on Gisby Street in West Vancouver.
