A homemade holly wreath can be beautiful and easy
to make.

BARB Lunter graduated from the University of British
Columbia with a commerce degree in marketing. This led
to successful marketing careers in both the food and wine
industries.

In 1994, Lunter developed a magazine type program
called Home Ideas for Shaw Cable. This show was an exten-
sion of her design company, Fiore Bella Designs, which
focused on home ideas, decorating themes, cooking and
other innovative entertaining programs.

Lunter is presently hosting a number of further episodes
for Rogers Cable’s Plugged In magazine program. As creator,

. producer and host of her shows, Lunter has blended a strong
marketing background with a successful design company to
produce a television program with wide audience appeal.

Lunter will also contribute some of her talented ideas and
projects to the Home and Garden section of the News.

Lunter presently lives in West Vancouver with her hus-
band and two children.

know someone who does. In
return for using their holly.
you can present them with an
exquisite asonal holly
wreath for their front 4oar.

These wreaths are fun to
do, casy to make and take
about 30 minutes te assem-
ble.

Marerials:

& 22 gauge green floral wire
(available at floral stores and
craft stores);

a 16” to 18” styrofoam
wreath;

@ ercen plastic wrap (garbage
bags will do);

fresh holly (cut in stems in
a variety of lengths);

@ 4 red holly berry clusters;
@ pine cones (medium to
large size);

@ red velvet ribbon;

@ pruning shears;

B rubber gloves.

It’s best to find a work-
space where you can hang the
wreath white working. Begin
by wrapping the styrofoam
ring with the plastic wrap and
pinning the end into the sty-
rofoam.

To make a hanger for the
wreath, loop an eight-inch
piece of wire and attach it to
the ring. Insert stems of holly
into the wreath, making sure
they are secure. | find the best
way to fill the ring is to work
clockwise from the top.
