light up on Saturday
at 7 p.m. for the
Christmas season.

The gardens, located in
the Park and Tilford shop-
ping centre on Brooksbank
Avenue, will sparkle cach
evening in December (except
Christmas Day) for public
strolls from 4 p.m. to 9:30

p.m

On Light Up_ night,
Santa’s elves will be busy face
painting and creating balloon
art for children.

Kid entertainers dubbed
The Lady Bugs will perform
the Christmas Museum skit.
Also on hand will be strolling
carollers.

Christmas ambience, ginger-
bread cookies and hot apple
cider will be provided free on
a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Friends of the
Gardens have prepared a
Christmas Window at the end
of the rose garden that con-
sists of a festive display
behind glass.

Winter hanging baskets
adorn the gardens now, dur-
ing the West Coast’s chilliest
time of year.

The interesting plant
combinations in the baskets
brighten up dull winter days.

Friends of the Gardens say
that any hardy plant in our
area can be used in winter
baskets.

Pointers for growing a
winter basket include:
