What catches your cye about

unusual adaptation of the
Craftsman style of architecture.

prominent projecting bay above the
entry, and the bellcast flare on-both
the bay, and on the outer wall sur-

HAVE YOU ever wondered what
happens to the leaves the city trucks
collect from Vancouver's tree-lined
streets?

Alb the leaves are composted for
a year and tured into a black. light-
weight. crumbly compost which is
ready for use as a mulch under gar-
den shrubs or over perennial gar-
dens.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m.
to 2 p.m. this compost will be on sale
in the VanDusen Gardens parking lot
for $3 per bag.

pares the compost.

growing, reduces the frequency of
