RCMP steps up program
against drinking drivers *.

THE NORTH Vancouver
RCMP will be operating road-
blocks throughout North Van-
couver Dec. 20 as part of the
Christmas CounterAttack en-
forcement campaign against
drinking drivers.

Christmas CounterAttack
runs to Jan. 3.

Since its inception in 1977,
CounterAtiack has reduced the
percentage of. motor vehicle
crashes caused by drinking
drivers in B.C. by more than
50%.

Yet despite the program's

success more than 200 people ° a
