Lynn Canavan Ecology Centre
is gearing up for another busy
season.

The following activities
are planned at the Lynn
Canyon Park centre:

Sunday, June 30: Seymour
Dam Bike Trip — This 20-
kilometre round-trip route to
the Seymour Dam and hatch-
ery is a moderate ride, Learn
about the fishery and use of
water resources. Helmets are
mandatory. Meet at the
Seymour Demonstration
Forest parking lot.

July and August, daily at 2
p.m.: Summer Nature
Walks — These walks for the
general public (not suitable
for groups) are easy-paced
and last about one hour.
Visitors are offered a glimpse
into the unique world of the
temperate rainforest. Pre-rey-
ister at 981-3103.

Sunday, July 7: Maplewood
Flats Walk -—~ Maplewood

Flats is one of the few habitats
Jeft for shorebirds and water-
fowl on Burrard Inlet. Meet at
the south end of — the
Environment Canada parking
lot for this introduction. to
birding.

Sundays, 10 aim. to 1 p.m:
Weekend Wanderings —
These guided hikes to various
destinations on the North

families and individuals.
Participants learn about natur-

Saturday, July 13: Bird
Houses and Feeders — Bring
along a hammer and create a
place for birds to nest or feed.
Saturday, July 20: Dyeing
and weaving with plants —
Use focal herbs and roots to
dye wool and then make cal-
orful weavings with natural
objects.

Creek Hike — Follow scenic
