Slow down for wildlife

During Wildlife Memorial
Week, August 1 to 8, national
park staff and volunteers will
place a flag along the roadside to
mark the location of each collision
that has resulted in an animal's
death. Hundreds of drivers hit
animals, sometimes causing injury
and even death to themselves and
their loved ones.

— you must have enough time to
react to animals or stopped vehi-
cles after you see them.

¢ Look for animal eyes reflec-
ting headlights. Watch the sides of
the road for tell-tale eye shine.
